Changes to Minnesota Labor Law discussed at June 23 program

A free brown-bag lunch session with two of the state’s top labor law authorities will be held June 23 to discuss changes the 2014 Legislature made to the minimum wage and to laws regarding pregnant and nursing women.

From noon to 1:30 p.m. at Cook County Higher Ed, participants will have an opportunity to hear from Jessica Looman, assistant commissioner with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, and from John Rajkowski, department legislative director. Rajkowski will provide background on passage of the minimum wage bill and introduce Looman, who will do a powerpoint on the new minimum wage law, plus new laws regarding pregnant and nursing women.

There is no need to sign up; just bring a lunch and a drink, make yourself comfortable and get educated about important changes to state labor law.
