Cook County Higher Education (CCHE) and Cook County Local Energy Project (CCLEP) are pleased to announce the receipt of a $2,500 Clean Energy Resource Team grant for local energy education. These two organizations have formed a unique collaboration to deliver energy education and CCLEP’s Residential Energy Efficiency Program (REEP) to Cook County.
This pilot project will include energy audits and education to increase the energy efficiency of homes in Cook County. Higher Education’s facility will serve as the home-energy audit demonstration site that will: 1) Offer energy efficiency workshops for general public and students. 2) Offer area contractors 8 CEU credits of training for energy efficient construction. 3) Will add ten Home Energy Audits to the County using tools being developed by CCLEP’s REEP process.
Workshop information will be posted locally as they are scheduled.
CCLEP encourages interested organizations and individuals to donate to this and other CCLEP projects by contacting localenergy@boreal.org.
