Cellist shares experience of Washington Opera’s Ring Cycle performance

Cellist Yvonne Caruthers recently performed in the Washington Opera’s epic production of Richard Wagner’s Ring Cycle. Including four operas, 15 hours of music composed by Wagner, Caruthers described it as “a once-in-a-lifetime experience!”

On June 29, 7 p.m., she will be sharing her experiences at St. John’s Catholic Church with photos, video clips, musical excerpts and humorous stories. There will also be guest appearances by Patricia Hvidston and Roger Opp of Hovland. There is no charge to attend this event.

For those who enjoyed the Lord of the Rings books or movies, which share many of the same plot lines as Wagner’s Ring Cycle, or who are fascinated by gods, giants, intrigue, magic potions, betrayal, greed and love, attend this humorous and musical evening.
