The amazing concert features a 90-piece choir and 20-piece orchestra. Director William Beckstrand conducted the musical event that included selections from Handel’s Messiah; Berlioz’s The Shepherds Bid Farewell to the Holy Family; Donkey Carol, by John Rutter and more. New this year was Snowfall, by Robin Escher. Bethlehem Lutheran Church was filled with admiring audiences at both performances.

Over 85 people attended the 2015 annual Open House Christmas Party at the Schaap Community Center/Poplar Lake Fire Hall No. 1. The party is hosted by the members of the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department to say thank you to the community for its support through the year. This year the fire department requested—and accepted—an abundance of food items for the Cook County Food Shelf. A great time was had by all!
