Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Senior Center

In January, the Senior Center hosted a couple of celebrations. Iola Wojtysiak celebrated her 91st birthday, complete with cake and ice cream and bingo. Renette Pearse celebrated her retirement and move here from southern Minnesota.

Everyone is invited to join us for a delicious Valentine’s Day lunch and party on Tuesday, February 14. There will be a musical hearts game, bingo and an ice cream social.

Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m.; reservations for lunch must be made by 9:30 a.m. The cost for bingo is $1 for the entire session. The suggested donation for the ice cream social is $2.

Bring a Valentine card for someone special and be entered in a special prize drawing. The more cards you bring, the more entries you will receive!

Traveling seniors

There are a number of upcoming travel opportunities. Travel to a dinner theater at the Harbor Light Supper Club on Sunday, February 12. Come out and enjoy Shout! the Mod Musical. Leave the Senior Center at 1:30 p.m. and return at approximately 5:30. The cost is $35, which includes show, dinner, dessert, tax and tip.

A birthday celebration was held at the Cook County Senior Center last month for Iola Wojtysiak. She turned 91 on January 20. She is pictured at her birthday party with her son-inlaw Orvis Lunke.
