Cook County Local Energy Project (CCLEP) has donated several construction-related books to the Grand Marais Public Library. These books are for building designers, construction and trade professionals, homeowners and anyone interested in how buildings work.
Builder’s Guide to Cold Climates by Joseph Lstiburek is a construction industry standard and pertains to building in the climate of Cook County.
Water Management Guide by Joseph Lstiburek is a guide that presents a variety of recommendations for minimizing water intrusion into homes.
Ventilation Guide by Armin Rudd presents a variety of practical recommendations for improving indoor air quality in residential buildings through controlled mechanical ventilation.
CCLEP Coordinator Virginia Danfelt explains that CCLEP is committed to promoting energy efficiency. “This includes making current information on sound, accepted building techniques available to everyone. Getting it right with any building or remodeling project large or small translates into creating safe, comfortable structures that are durable, energy efficient and cost less to operate,” said Danfelt.
This project is funded in part from the Lutheran Community Fund and donations. Visit www.cookcountylocalenergy.org for more information.
