After a full year of taking classes online, high school students at Cook County ISD 166 will now have the chance to attend school in person if they so wish.
The announcement came on Monday, February 23, from acting Superintendent Megan Myers.
Myers announced on Boreal that the first day of hybrid school would take place on March 9, 2021.
Under the “pivot” schedule, students will learn from home on Mondays (C Days) and Tuesday through Friday they will attend school from 8:07 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. On the four in-person school days distance learners will receive support from teachers from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
A meeting for parents and community members will be held March 1 at 4 p.m. Teachers will spend March 4 and March 5 planning for the return to classrooms and there will be no school or childcare on those days.
For those students who wish to stick with online classes, that option will be available.
