It was a big day for CCHS seniors on Monday, May 21, as many kids received scholarships or awards for academic or athletic accomplishments made during their years in school.

All told 53 presentations were made, many speakers offering more than one scholarship or award.

One non-senior, teacher Pam Taylor, was asked to stand in recognition of her 35 years as a teacher and coach at CCHS. This is Pam’s final year and she received a rousing applause.

The Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation presented 13 students with a full year’s tuition and books at either Lake Superior College or Fond du Lac Community College. If the students keep their grades above a 2.0, they will receive a second year of tuition and books from the foundation.

2018 Lloyd K. Johnson recipients are David Blackburn, Kya Brazell, Emery Brown, Mikey Burton, Connor Franks, Finnian Garry, Joseph James, Santina McMillan, Andrea Naylor, Caleb Phillips, Alize Pierre, Jasmine Smith, and Nina Woerheide.
