The Cook County News- Herald is joining WTIP Community Radio as it offers several live call-in candidate forums. The general election is November 4 and mail ballots will be sent out mid-October. Before that, join WTIP’s Jay Andersen and News-Herald Editor Rhonda Silence as they talk to candidates for the county board of commissioners, sheriff and city council seats in the WTIP studio.
On Wednesday, October 8, all five county commissioner candidates will be on-air: District 1 candidates Kristin DeArruda Wharton and Frank Moe; District 5 candidates
Bruce Martinson (incumbent) and Ginny Storlie, as well as District 3 candidate Jan Sivertson who is running unopposed.
An additional forum, to interview candidates for Minnesota House 3A seat will be held on Tuesday, October 21 at 2 p.m. Listen or call in to the forum with David Dill (incumbent) and Eric Johnson.
Jay Andersen is also hosting a program on Tuesday, October 7 at 6 p.m. with the candidates running unopposed— Auditor-Treasurer Braidy Powers and County Attorney Molly Hicken and School District 166 board members Jeanne Anderson and Deb White.
