Carol Anne Berglund went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Bay Front Hospital in Venice, Florida with her daughter Sharon Eriksson and husband Edward Berglund at her side. She had suffered from renal failure for several years and when dialysis was attempted her weakened heart went into arrest.
Born on July 4, 1937 to Alice and Walter Swanson in St. Paul, Minn., she attended grade school in Little Canada, Minn., and was in the first graduation class of Ramsey High School in Roseville, Minn.
After high school, she went to work at Economics Laboratory (EcoLab) in St. Paul in the Data Processing department where she met her husband, Edward Berglund, and the two were married on Sept. 3, 1960. Together, they had two children.
Carol, as she was known by most friends, worked at Harvest States Coop. in St. Paul for 28 years, raising her family on Lake Gervais and retiring in 1994. In 1996, she and Edward built their dream home on Devil Track Lake in northern Minnesota and moved there permanently in 2010. In 2006, she and Edward built their winter retreat in Placida, Florida, becoming residents of Florida in 2008. Carol and Ed spent their winters in Florida and summers on Devil Track Lake, enjoying the best of both worlds.
Carol is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward; son Bruce (Ellen) of Broadview Heights, Ohio; daughter Sharon (Torbjorn) Eriksson of Medina, Ohio; and five grandchildren,
Daniel Eriksson, Chris (Jessica) Eriksson, Linnea (Matthew) Schliep, Andre and Mark Berglund.
