The Caribou Lake Property Owners Association (CLPOA) held its annual meeting Saturday, September 3 at the Lutsen Town Hall.

Lake quality reports were presented, as well as a Firewise Community report. Commissioner Ginny Storlie gave a county update and other business was conducted. Author and North Shore expert Chel Anderson was the featured speaker. She shared her vast knowledge of the unique geological highlands area where Caribou Lake sits surrounded by a sugar maple forest. Her recently published book, co-authored with Adelheid Fischer, North Shore: A Natural History of Minnesota’s Superior Coast is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn about the entire incredible watershed along Lake Superior and its environmental history.

The CLPOA meets twice a year – the Saturdays of Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend.
