I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank Grand Marais Chamber of Commerce Director Bev Wolke for the outstanding job of planning and implementing the Classic Car Show Saturday, June 11, 2011. What a marvelous idea to change the location from Coast Guard Point to Wisconsin Street!
As a business located on Wisconsin Street, our day was busy and fun. It was nice to look out our front door and see hot rods, vintage cars, trucks, foreign vehicles, and motorcycles. People were mingling, enjoying snacks provided by the Girl Scouts, and listening to local musicians on the stage. The town was buzzing with activity!
I visited three other businesses—they were very busy, too. The car show attracted many people from Canada and the United States.
I hope the Grand Marais Chamber of Commerce will continue to hold the Classic Car Show on Wisconsin Street; participants seemed to like it better, businesses appeared busier than other years, and spectators obviously enjoyed the activities in Harbor Park.
The 2011 Classic Car Show was a huge success. Fine job, Bev, Chamber board, and volunteers!
