The Cable Area Off Road Classic mountain bike race set for May 15, 2010 announced a brand new course for their 23-mile race.
Following the recommendations of various riders from the 2009 race, the coordinators have redesigned the longer race to be more technically challenging, encompassing nearly 20 miles of single or double track. “The racers want to ride on the more difficult and unique trails that help make the Cable Area the mountain bike capital of the Midwest,” said James Bolen, executive director of the Cable Area Chamber of Commerce. “This new course will have bench cut single track, rock gardens, steep slopes and switchbacks. Riders will find this new course very challenging.”
For riders looking for a little less challenge the event also offers an 18-mile course that is better suited for novice riders and those looking for an early spring race that isn’t too technical. The short course encompasses a fair amount of CAMBA trails with double track and forest roads.
Both race course maps can be seen on the www.cable4fun.com/caorc.htm website. For more information on the Cable Area Off Road Classic contact the Cable Area Chamber of Commerce at 800-533- 7454.
