More than 160,000 children miss school every day out of fear of attack or intimidation by other students. One out of five kids admits to being a bully or doing some “bullying.”
Adults are often part of the problem. Adult intervention occurs only about 4 percent of the time.
“I Am Unafraid” is a presentation by Jay Banks, a nationally known entertainer and educator who gets to the heart of the harassment, bullying and disrespect matter. He will be giving two performances at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts on Tuesday, Sept. 11, the first at 10 a.m. for 3rd – 5th grade students. The second performance will be at 1:40 p.m. for 6th – 8th grade youths. Any auditorium seats not used by students are available to parents, teachers and interested community members.
