As a resident of District 1 I was shocked to read Mr. Vannet’s response to Commissioner Doo-Kirk’s comment about being bullied: “Do you ever think that those remarks may be justified?” Since when is bullying justifiable?
I believe that anyone seeking public office should not see intimidation and bullying as a value. I wonder how he would treat those of us in his district that disagree with him, especially women given his derogatory comments about Ms. Doo- Kirk. Would that be his approach to any constituent who disagrees with him?
I wonder if what we need from Mr. Vannet is respect and greater transparency about his own real agenda in seeking the commissioner’s position except to lower taxes and attack those with whom he disagrees.
