Cook County will host a series of town hall meetings on the proposed 2019 budget beginning next week. Draft budgets are available online at www.co.cook.mn.us/budget for residents to review.
“All of the proposed budgets are available online on the county’s website for citizen review,” said Jeff Cadwell, county administrator.
“We encourage residents to engage in the budget process as Cook County works toward setting the preliminary 2019 levy. Making the budget information easily accessible to all and the upcoming meetings are an opportunity for residents to learn more about the draft 2019 budget, and is an opportunity to ask questions and provide input to commissioners.”
District town hall budget meetings have been scheduled as follows, with all meetings beginning at 6 p.m.: . Tuesday, Sept. 4 – District 4: Midtrail Fire Hall, Gunflint Trail. . Wednesday, Sept. 5 – District 5: Birch Grove School, 9 Goodneighbor Hill Road, Tofte. . Thursday, Sept. 6 – District 1: Hovland Town Hall, 4957 East Highway 61, Hovland. . Monday, Sept. 10 – Districts 2 and 3: Cook County Community Center, 317 5th St., Grand Marais.
All meetings are open to the public—everyone welcome.
