Buck’s Big Fish Report

Where are the fish biting?


 

 

As the weather has warmed up, so has the fishing! The folks at Buck’s Hardware have heard the following reports on local lakes.

Photo courtesy of Dave and Mike This 30-inch, 11 pound walleye was caught by Bob Viren on Blueberry Lake. Assisting him land this beauty was his "li’l brother" Dan.

Walleyes have been found on Flour Lake in 25′ of water on Lindy Rigs and leeches and on Lake Saganaga in 35′ of water around Horse Shoe Island with jig and minnow. Walleyes have been responding on Northern Light River on jig and night crawler; and on Tom Lake in 15′ of water using slip bobbers and leeches. Best fishing has been in the evenings. On Elbow Lake walleyes have been caught in 10′ of water, trolling with Rapalas slowly or using slip bobber minnow and leeches. A few perch have been caught in Elbow as well.

 

 

If you’re looking for northerns, they have been biting on Northern Light River by trolling with Dare Devils.

Rainbow Trout have been caught in Mink Lake off the pier, using crawlers off the bottom or on Trout Lake in 20′ of water with crawlers and buck shot lures.

Photo by Gene Dressely Melissa Dressely, with the assistance of her 3-yearold son, Ray-Ray, caught and released this nice, plump 27-inch walleye.

Fishermen have been catching both splake and rainbow trout on Esther Lake in 10′ of water by casting Swedish pimples and Meps.
