Where are the fish biting?
According to the anglers visiting Buck’s Hardware Hank in Grand Marais, walleyes are biting on McFarland Lake in 10′ of water on jig and minnow. On Devil Fish Lake, they are biting in 12′ to 15′ in the evening on jig and minnow and during daylight hours, on Lindy Rig with a minnow drifting around the islands.
Fishermen have been finding success on Northern Light River in 8′ with a jig and minnow or slip bobber. Some nice northerns have been caught trolling with spoons.
Walleyes are biting on Big Cascade Lake in 15′ to 20’with jig and minnow.
In Saganaga Lake 21″ walleyes have been found in 80′ of water, 20′ down on a slip bobber and 30′ on jig and minnow off the bottom. Lake trout are being caught in Sag Lake at 20′ with trolling spoons.
Brookies have been caught at Carrot Lake by anglers using night crawler rigs in 12′ of water or surface flies in the evening.
