Bruce Wayne Wishcop, 79 of San Tan Valley, Arizona passed away on November 30, 2021, at Mercy Hospital with his wife and grandson by his side. Bruce was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Clyde and Ann Wishcop. Bruce spent his early years in Grand Marais, Minnesota and moved to Weaverville, California in 1963 to marry his high school sweetheart, June Sundquist.
Bruce spent his career as a bricklayer mason mostly in Colorado and retired in 2000 at Lake McConaughy, Nebraska where he and his wife had their summer home. His wife retired soon after and in 2003 they began traveling in their RV’s and became “snowbirds”. In 2005 they bought a home in Arizona and later became summer travelers. Bruce loved the outdoors and sunny Arizona and had many hobbies: hiking, rock hounding, photography, ATV riding, jeeping, exploring petroglyphs and Indian ruins from his Native American heritage. To escape the summer Arizona heat, he and his wife traveled to what he called “God’s Country”, Ely, Minnesota to visit family and friends and enjoyed summer family projects, fishing, all types of boating and exploring. Bruce always saw beauty in nature and loved making crafty items from all his findings and had an amazing creative talent. Jewelry, gourds, rock displays, walking sticks, flowerpots, yard decorations, rock dishes, wall hangings and etc.
Bruce was a very quiet, kind and generous man with a good soul who was always available to help whoever, whatever or wherever the need. He loved all his family and friends dearly but his grandkids, who lost their father at a young age, had the special place in his heart.
Bruce is survived by his wife June of 58 years; grandchildren, Brendon of Phoenix, Arizona and Bryanna (Michael) Williams Manhattan, Kansas; his daughter-in-law Terry (Kevin) Bolte, Lindsborg, Kansas; sister Sharon Chadwick Duluth, Minnesota, brother Steve (Becky) Wishcop, Berthoud, Colorado and sister-in-law and brother in-law Byron and Alice Moren Ely, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
Bruce is preceded in death by his son, Forrest, grandson Joshua, sister Margaret Gerensek and brothers Patrick and Michael Wishcop and his beloved kitty, Pebbles.
