Brian John Burmachuk, 82, of Duluth, was called to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born on January 4, 1941, in Winnipeg, Canada. Brian was preceded in death by his loving wife Beverlee and daughter Kara Pavelich and son-in-law Mark Pavelich. He is survived by his dear daughter Dana Burmachuk, his brother Robert Burmachuk of Winnipeg, his nephews Brent, Trevor (Michelle), and Jason (Tammy) Burmachuk, four great-nephews, a great-niece, a great, great-nephew and a great, great-niece of Canada. He is also survived by his step granddaughter Tarja Pavelich (John) Lewis, a step great-grandson, and a step great-granddaughter of Duluth. Brian graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, in 1963, and in 1963 married Beverlee, his wife of 41 years. They lived in Windsor, Thunder Bay, and Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, and in Grand Rapids, Duluth, Tofte, and Hovland, Minnesota. As a licensed captain of their boat, “The Cruise- Aider in Christ,” he with his family conducted a summer boat ministry on Lake Superior from 1973 until about 1980. Their ministry continued for a time after that at Memory Lodge in Ontario. In addition to having home Bible studies in Tofte for many years, he and their family ministered to people as they traveled in Europe. Brian was also involved and supportive for years with Beverlee’s teaching of many piano students, and he officiated at several weddings as an ordained minister. There will be a Memorial/Celebration of Life Service held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the ParkView family home in Tofte, Minnesota. A luncheon and burial will follow.
