Brea Boomer makes Wisconsin All-Conference honorable mention

Former Cook County High school scholar and Vikings basketball standout Brea Boomer has been named honorable mention for the 2012-2013 All-WIAC Women’s Basketball team.

In just her sophomore year, Boomer has emerged as one of Wisconsin-Stout’s top offensive threats, averaging 11.8 points per game and three times scoring more than 20 points in a contest.

For much of the season Boomer led the conference with a .517 field goal percentage and ended up second in that category.

Boomer spent the first half of her freshman year riding the pines at U.W. Stout, but with her defensive hustle and offensive game, the coaches couldn’t keep her off the court forever and she started the second half of the season.

Brea is the daughter of Mike and Lori Boomer of Grand Portage.
