Brassholes rock out for one of their own battling cancer

On Saturday, March 9, the Minnesota Brassholes Rockin’ Sheriffs band performed a live concert to help raise funds and show solidarity for one of their own who is battling breast cancer, Wilkin County Sheriff ’s Office Deputy Darlene Reddy of Breckenridge.

The concert was held to assist Deputy Reddy and her family while she completes medical treatment. The event was organized by Rothsay Town & Country and the Wilkin County Sheriff ’s Office.

The MN Brassholes Rockin’ Sheriffs band is made up of five sheriffs (one recently retired) from around the state with a passion for music, including:

Cook County Sheriff Pat Eliasen, lead guitar and vocals: Currently serving his second term as Cook County sheriff and a 24-year law enforcement veteran. Pat holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Leadership from Concordia University and a bachelor’s degree in Education from Bemidji State University.

He is also a licensed K-12 teacher who has taught English and music. Eliasen has played and sung with his performing band MYsterious WAYs since 1991 and has recorded two albums with the band Oversize Load. He started playing guitar at age 15 with best friend Mike Pratt, lead guitarist for Mysterious Ways. Pratt is playing a special guest performance with the Brassholes for this event.

The other performers for this event include Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose, bass; Goodhue County, retired sheriff Scott McNurlin, drums and vocals; Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn, percussion and vocals; Wilkin County Sheriff Rick Fiedler, rhythm guitar and vocals.
