Jordan Porter and Pete Sutton combined for 71 points but it wasn’t enough for the Vikings on their 87-85 loss to Fond du Lac Ogichida in an away game played Friday, February 28.
This was the Vikings’ last game of the regular season before playoffs started.
Jordan Porter led the team in scoring with 36 points and Pete Sutton ended his night with 35 points. Adam Dorr finished with six points; Austin Lincoln had five points and Keegan Morrison three points in this nip-and-tuck affair.

Pete Sutton had his best game yet for the Vikings, scoring 45 points against Lakeview Christian Academy in the Vikings’ home win on Monday, March 2.
The game was a Section 7A play-in, with the winner taking on North Woods on Wednesday, March 4.
While Pete was hotter than a pistol, Jordan Porter was no slouch in the scoring department either; adding 30 points to the Vikings’ 79 point total in their 79-68 playoff win. Tate Crawford and Adam Dorr each scored two points to end the Vikings’ scoring.
Despite handily defeating the Lions 70-38 on January 6, this was a different game than the first affair, and the Lions kept it close throughout.
“Playoff wins are always tough,” said head Coach Colin Everson. “We came out slow and struggled to get things going for most of the first half. We found a push in the middle of the second half and caught a lead and we were able to ride it out to the finish. It was good to get the first one under our belt and get ready to go to North Woods Wednesday, March 4.”
The North Woods Grizzlies are 20-6 this season and are led by Trevor Morrison who averages 24.7 points per game. TJ Chiabotti sports a 21.1 per game average and Darius Goggleye averages 14.2 points per contest. These guys can all score baskets in bunches.
And while North Woods likes to attack the basket, they can score from long range. TJ Chiabotti has 40 three-point baskets; Brenden Chiabotti has 26 and Jared Chiabotti 23 three pointers on the season.
