Boys fall to Two Harbors Agates

Captains of the boys’ basketball team this year are three seniors, from L-R: Pete Sutton, Jordan Porter and Adam Dorr. The three all stand 6’2” to 6’3” and give the Vikings some height. The team’s first home game is against Cromwell on Monday, December 16. Varsity action will start at 4:45 p.m.

The Cook County boys’ basketball team opened its season with a loss to Two Harbors, falling 55-47.

The game took place on Friday, December 6, in Two Harbors.

At halftime, the Agates led by 15 points, 35-20, but the Vikings outscored the Agates 27-20 in the second half to make it close.

Head coach Colin Everson said his team played pretty well for a first game, and added, “We found some things to work on and improve.”

Pete Sutton led the team with 20 points. Adam Dorr finished with 10, Jordan Porter 6, Austin Lincoln 5, Tate Crawford 4, and Keegan Morrison ended his night with 2 points.

Four Vikings, Dorr, Lincoln, Sutton, and Porter each had a three-point basket in the game.

Trent Gomez, 16 points, and Clark Nelson, 12 points, were the only Agate players in double figures.

Next up for the Vikings is a home game against the always-tough Cromwell Cardinals basketball team. The Vikings play the Cromwell Cardinals at home on Monday, December 16. Varsity action starts at 6:30 p.m. Come out and cheer for your Vikings!
