Leading 21-8 at the half, it looked like the Cook County boys’ basketball team would take a relatively easy victory over the Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings in a game played Tuesday, March 1.
However, the LFBF Vikings clamped down on defense and held our boys to nine second half points while scoring 20 points. A last second LFBF three-point shot was off its mark and Cook County held on for a wild 30-28 win.
“It was an ugly win for us tonight. I am proud of how the boys battled all game,” said Viking Head Coach Andy Feddema. “We faced some adversity in the second half, but we were able to find a way to come out with a win. Give credit to Littlefork, they have some really nice young ballplayers. Paul Dorr led us with 20 points and eight rebounds. Jacob Dorr had four points and nine rebounds. Recko Helmerson-Skildum had four points and six rebounds. Rohan Rude had five rebounds. Derek Smith was a worker on defense, getting seven steals for us.”
Next up are play-offs. At the time of this newspaper edition the Vikings didn’t know who they would face in section play.
