Bowls sought for Empty Bowl fundraiser




TheGrand Marais Art Colony is looking for donations of artisan-crafted bowls of any medium—pottery, fiber, wood, metal or even a painting of a bowl! Bowls of all shapes and sizes will be offered at the Empty Bowls Silent Auction at this year’s Empty Bowls event on Thursday, November 12 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

The Empty Bowls Silent Auction will actually open a few days before
the dinner on Saturday, November 7 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Marais Art Colony. The Silent Auction items will remain on display at the Art Colony, which will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The auction will close at 7:00 p.m. the night of the dinner.

If you have something to donate, please submit it to the Grand Marais Art Colony by Friday, November 6 at noon. For more information, call (218) 387- 2737 or e-mail arts@boreal.org.

TheEmpty Bowls Dinner is an annual fundraiser for the Cook County Food Shelf. At the dinner, for a $10 suggested donation, dinner guests pick out their favorite handmade bowl, fill it with delicious soup and enjoy the company of friends and neighbors.
