Spring is in the air, which means the snow is melting, flowers are getting ready to bud, and birds are making their way back to the Northwoods. It also means a change to Cook County’s digital world in the form of a revamp of Boreal.org’s interface.
On Wednesday, March 29th, Boreal’s Director of Marketing, Anne Brataas, welcomed roughly 75 people at Java Moose to field questions about the changes that Boreal will be undergoing.
“Though Boreal is transitioning to a new platform it will still be maintaining its functions,” Brataas explained. “All the things that people love will still be there like the classifieds.”
Boreal will also continue its role as an email service provider. Brataas encouraged people to call Boreal to have their email migrated to the new Gmail platform. Users that do this will see a better functioning email system with no change to their address or other email assets.
“That’s something I want to convey: Boreal is coming to the 21st century now but when it was first built Boreal Access was visionary by brining email and Internet to the North Shore.”
