Boreal Access annual meeting and elections begin Aug. 5

The Boreal Access annual members’ meeting is scheduled for the week of Aug. 5. The meeting will be held online and there will be a link to the meeting website on Boreal’s home page (www.boreal.org) during the meeting week.

The annual meeting is a chance for members to catch up with what’s been happening at Boreal over the last year as well as to vote for board members, ask questions, and register to win a $22.95 gift certificate for Boreal services.

The board member with an expiring term this year, Steve Surbaugh, is running for re-election as an incumbent. While no other current board positions are opening, if you or someone you know is interested in serving on the Boreal board there is room for more. Nominations are now open from the Boreal Access membership for additional board members.

Anyone wishing to submit a nomination should email the Boreal office at office@boreal.org prior to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2. Include a short resume of the nominee along with contact information, email address and phone number.

Board members must be Boreal Access members in good standing who are able to attend monthly meetings, carry out the board member responsibilities, and abide by the rules, including the fiduciary responsibilities for nonprofit board members in the State of Minnesota. Technical expertise is not required, but a willingness to contribute to the success of this nonprofit community cooperative is necessary.

Ballots will be emailed to Boreal Access members the week before the annual meeting.
