There will be a book signing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27 at the Trading Post in Grand Marais featuring Scouts Honor author Blake Fontenay.
Fontenay said the book centers around two teenaged Eagle Scouts who go on a camping trip in the Boundary Waters with a group of younger boys. The trip goes awry when one of the boys stumbles across a campsite being used by a group of terrorists who have snuck across the Canadian border and are planning to bomb the Mall of America. When the terrorists find out that the scouts know their plans, it sets off a Hunger Games-like fight for survival. “There are, of course, some twists along the way, but that’s the gist of it,” Fontenay said.
This is Fontenay’s second novel. The first, The Politics of Barbecue, received a gold medal from the Independent Publishers Book Awards.
