Boater transported to hospital after bee sting




The Grand Portage ambulance was paged at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15 to respond to the Hat Point Marina in Grand Portage. A boat was bringing ashore a 24-year-old male suffering an allergic reaction from a bee sting.

The boat, on its way from Isle Royale to Grand Portage, radioed that its estimated arrival time was in 35 minutes.

The radio caller said the man’s tongue was swelling. The Grand Portage ambulance was waiting at the dock when the boat arrived at 5 p.m. The man was transported to the Cook County North Shore Hospital.
