The North Shore has long been known as a fabulous place to have a wedding. It’s now also known as the best place in Minnesota for a honeymoon with Minnesota Bride
magazine honoring Bluefin Bay in Tofte with an award for “the best honeymoon in Minnesota” for 2010. Kim Nelson, Bluefin Bay event coordinator, was delighted to accept the award at an elegant reception at the Carlson Towers Rotunda in the Twin Cities.

Each year brides and grooms planning their big day cast the votes for a number of awards, for everything from cakes and calligraphers to gowns and gift registries. According to 6,000 online ballots, the 40 vendors represent the best in the business of all things bridal.

Another North Shore favorite, Best Western Superior Inn & Suites of Grand Marais, was a close runner-up, securing the North Shore as the place to relax and enjoy your honeymoon.

Of Bluefin Bay, voter Courtney Stenseth, married Oct. 10, 2009, at Holiday Inn Burnsville, wrote, “Being on the lake on the North Shore is a really serene atmosphere, and really quiet; we felt like we were the only ones staying there! Whenever we wanted something or had a question it was handled right away, and we got exactly what we wanted. It was a place where we could relax.”
