Bluefin Bay Supermarket Sweep

Evan Dunn was excited. He was nervous and planning his attack. He had three minutes to fill a shopping cart or two with merchandise from Buck Hardware, and Evan had a $1,000 limit, so he had to be careful about price.

“I’m looking for items to help me with a deck makeover,” the manager of the Bluefin Grille restaurant nervously said.

Customers at Buck’s on this May 6 morning were wondering what was going on?

James Taylor, Bluefin Bay Resorts Manager, was all smiles as he answered questions. Taylor explained that Bluefin had given each employee a fifty-dollar gift card for a local business as a thank you for their excellent work through a long hard winter. All of the employees’ names were then entered into a grand prize drawing, and Evan was the lucky winner.

Evan had several friends from Bluefin there to cheer him on.

When the countdown went from five to zero, Evan was off like a shot, with Katie Krantz, Bluefin Bay Marketing Manager, right behind him, filming the event for Bluefin’s social media.

Evan had trouble lifting a grill into the cart, and a friendly shopper helped him. He grabbed a few kitchen supplies along the way and in no time at all, he had one-and-one-half carts filled as time ran out.

When he was done, Evan raised his arms in triumph. Friends and shoppers clapped and smiled. A long winter for the California native was ending with a bang. Evan was all smiles.
