Blood drive coming March 1 and 2

Memorial Blood Centers invites all eligible blood donors to roll up their sleeves and give blood. Every two seconds someone needs blood—from heart transplants to cancer patients to accident victims to premature babies.

On March 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a blood drive held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Grand Marais.

A second blood drive will take place at Cook County High School on Thursday, March 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Donors should be in good health, free of antibiotics for 24 hours, unless taken daily for skin conditions, symptom free for at least three days following a cold or flu and be 17 years or older— or 16 with written parental consent.

While walk-ins are always welcome, we encourage appointments to be made in advance. To register, go online to MBC.ORG. or call 1-888-448-3253.
