The Blandin Foundation has been honored by the Northland Foundation’s board of trustees and staff for contributions spanning a 20-year period. Grants and sponsorships from the Blandin Foundation for various Northland Foundation programs and projects total more than $1.1 million to date. The two foundations share a dedication to strengthening the vitality of rural northeastern Minnesota communities.
Jim Hoolihan and Mary Kosak of the Blandin Foundation were on hand to accept an award presented by Northland Foundation Board Chair Cindy Hansen.
This fruitful relationship began in 1992 with support for the Northland Foundation’s KIDS PLUS Program. Blandin has since helped fund many KIDS PLUS initiatives as well as provided resources for Northland Assisted Living and the Northland Institute. The Grand-Rapids based organization has also provided sponsorship support for numerous training opportunities hosted by Northland Foundation including the annual Regional Early Childhood Summit.
