Rifle deer season is over and the results are in. The winners in the Buck’s Hardware Big Buck Contest remain the same as the first week of the contest. No hunters brought in bigger bucks.

The winner in the weight category is Colton Furlong whose buck weighed in at 224.2 pounds. Owen Anderson was close behind with a 217.8-pound buck, but Colton takes home the prize, a new Winchester 30.06 dbl bolt action.

In the antler-spread category Mike Quaife finished as leader with a rack width of 21.75 inches. Quaife wins half of the prize money, which totaled $1,980.

Owen Anderson was also second in that category with his buck with an 18.25-inch antler spread.

In addition to the prize for the largest dressed weight and the largest antler spread, all contest entrants are in a drawing for half of the money from contest entry fees. Drawn from all of the hunters in the contest was Racey Rodne.

There are still hunters in the woods however. Muzzleloader deer season opens November 29 and ends December 14. Archery season continues until December 31, 2014.
