One and a half years ago the North Shore Commercial Fishing museum instituted a new program called Stories of the Fishing Life, as told by those who have lived it.

The next event will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the fishing museum in Tofte. The guest speaker will be Betty Sivertson Strom, who will talk about her childhood on Isle Royale and what it was like growing up there.

Betty still spends summers there and has recently written a book Isle Royale, from My Point of View. She will talk about her upbringing in the Sivertson fishing family, and will have her books to sign for all those interested. Beverages and snacks will be served.

Don’t miss hearing about this important part of Isle Royale and the North Shore’s history. The programs are narrated by Art Fenstad and are about one hour long.
