Bethlehem Lutheran Church will raise the rafters at 6:30 p.m. June 10 with the high powered musical Godspell — the great musical drama of the life of Jesus Christ written in 1960s. It will be brought to Grand Marais by New Wine, a drama and musical troupe of teenagers who perform Christian, contemporary musicals. The name New Wine refers to scripture in Luke 5. Jesus challenges us to get rid of old wine skins – our old ways of life – to make room for the New Wine, the word of God, to be poured into our new wine skins. The Winers will be spreading the gospel through their lives and the words of the classic ’60s rock musical
There are two other New Wine Troupes in Minnesota: one in Cloquet, and one in Morris.
The Walker area New Wine Troupe coming to Grand Marais is made up of 11 Christian teenagers from three different churches. They have been rehearsing under the direction of Martha Rogness Vetter since January at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker.
