Benjamin Frank Cervenka died on October 31, 2014 in St. Paul, Minnesota at Regions Hospital due to complications of cystic fibrosis.
He was 31, born December 14, 1982. He graduated from Cook County High School in Grand Marais in 2001, then graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where he lived until 2013. He moved to Minneapolis to be close to the University of Minnesota Cystic Fibrosis Center.
Ben is survived by his mother Anne Humphrey Cervenka; father Frank Cervenka; brother Joseph Bailey Jacobson; and nephew Joseph U. Jacobson; as well as aunts and uncles Candace Cervenka, Charles and Janie Humphrey, Kathy Stoltz, George and Cheryl Humphrey and Mary Humphrey Cameron; cousins Sheila Humphrey, Julie Stoltz, Jennifer Stoltz (Courtney Johnson), Katie Humphrey, Kristi Humphrey-Smith (Jed Smith), Jessica Cameron, Alicia Cameron, Lauren Humphrey and Matt Humphrey, Ian Bromander and Allie Smith.
He was preceded in death by his cousin Scott Humphrey and uncles George Stoltz and Tom Cameron.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota; visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. This will be followed by a celebration of Ben’s life at the Czech Hall in St. Paul at 1:00 p.m.
