Beginning with Clay coming to Art Colony

Hand building and use of the pottery wheel will be taught at the Beginning with Clay course at the Art Colony this winter.

Don’t miss out on a great eight-week beginner clay class that includes 24-hour studio access throughout the entire class.

Beginning with Clay will be presented by Melissa Wickwire Jan. 8 through Feb. 26 (eight Tuesdays) from 6 to 8 p.m. There is a $190 tuition, plus a $30 supply fee.

The class is aimed at giving the beginner a basic understanding of the ceramic process including building, surface design and firing. Introducing hand-building methods as well as the pottery wheel will be the emphasis of this class. Class time will include demonstrations and guided independent work time. Class includes 24-hour access to the clay studio during the session.
