The final score in the Fisherman’s Picnic CCHS alumni baseball game favored the kids 10-2 over the alumni. Or maybe the score was 10-3? At any rate, more fun was had than anything as former CCHS baseball players donned their gloves, baseball caps, and employed their Ruthian baseball bats once again against kids from 2010 to the present.

“It was another celebration of Viking Baseball, recognizing American Legion teams beginning in 1996, and High School baseball beginning in 2000,” said head Viking Coach Arleigh Jorgenson.

“There were some signs that our alumni have not lost it, (a few!) and there were some great memories revisited. Clearly the Viking teams of the present, and even more importantly, the future, would not enjoy the opportunity that now exists in Cook County, if not for the stellar play of these players of old. It was pure fun!”
