The U.S. Forest Service will hold a public meeting and discussion of the Barker Project in the area of the Bally Creek Ski Trail from 5 to 6:30 p.m. May 27 at the Gunflint Ranger Station in Grand Marais.
To date, about 30 people have expressed a variety of issues from creating more moose habitat to concerns about potential impacts of the Bally Creek Ski Trail System. Dave Williams of Bear Track Outfitting and Bally Creek Cabins has been working with the Forest Service to address issues about impacts to the trail system. Those attending the meeting will have an opportunity to be involved in the management of the forest around the trail system.
