Band instruments needed

Do you have a used band instrument that needs a home? Would you like to make a donation to help repair or buy used instruments for students in need?

The North Shore Music Association (NSMA) is sponsoring a donation drive to get instruments into the hands of ISD 166 band students. To strengthen music education and learning opportunities in our community, our goal is to see that every child who needs one has access to an instrument for use at school and practice at home.

If you have an instrument in good or easily repairable condition that you would like to donate to the school, Band Director Mikkel Haas would love to hear from you.

Mikkel will be happy to meet with you to look at the instrument and determine if repairs will be affordable. He is available in the band room after school until 4 pm every day. The band room is at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts, through the double doors to the right of the box office. If you need to come in at another time, please arrange with Mikkel for a specific time and day. Contact Mikkel Haas at 218-387-2271 Ext. 301 or email mhaas@isd166.org

If affordable, the cost of instrument repairs will be covered by the North Shore Music Association (NSMA). These repairs are made possible by a major gift from Richard and Peggy Struck in memory of their son, Robert, as well as donations made to the instrument-drive fund.

If you would like to make a cash donation to the fund, please contact NSMA Director Kate Fitzgerald at 218-387-1272 or email music@boreal.org.

Thank you so much for supporting music education in Cook County!
