Band director bids goodbye

This is an open letter to the amazing students, parents, teachers, and community members I have had the pleasure of working with over the last seven years here in Cook County. With a sad, but full heart I will be leaving Cook County High School to take over the 6-12 band position at William Kelley High School in Silver Bay.

It has been a pleasure and honor to share my love of music with the hundreds of students who have come through my classroom since 2009.

It has been a joy showcasing the amazing students of the Cook County HS Band at Graceland in Memphis; at the Bayfield Apple Fest; in Silver Bay for Bay Days; and at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I am proud of the seniors who have come through my band and gone into the world to become amazing adults. I see a great future for the CCHS band in the wonderful students of Sawtooth Elementary.

Because of all of you not only have I grown as a teacher, but I have made wonderful memories and even better friendships. Thank you, Cook County. Now say it with me: Goooo Cook County Vikings!
