Backstrom continues six-meet winning streak

Race No. 6 of the Northland Junior Race Series at Mont du Lac on Sunday, Feb. 13 gave Lutsen junior alpine skiers the chance to shine. Speedy Logan Backstrom continued his winning way, once again taking first place in his age group. He has won first place in his division at all of the races this season!

The Lutsen junior alpine skiers have been having a great time on the slopes. Their hard work and practice at Lutsen Mountains showed in Race No. 6 of the Northland Junior Race Series on Sunday Feb. 13 at the Mont du Lac Recreation Area. Mont du Lac has made great improvements to its facility consisting of a new start ramp and major renovations to the chalet and outdoor deck.

Twenty-one racers, ages 8 and up from Lutsen skied two runs of slalom. Earning first place in his age group once again was Logan Backstrom. Backstrom has won first place in his division in every race so far this season.

There were also five Lutsen racers, ages 7 and under who skied two runs of giant slalom, achieving some great results. A good time was had by all on the Mont du Lac course.
