The Grand Marais Playhouse is taking auditions for the Edgar Allen Poe Afterlife Radio Show, which will be performed live on-stage Halloween weekend at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts.
There are roles for five or more people high school age to adult. The cast includes Edgar Allen Poe, a smart alec cat, and actors that perform sections from, The Cask of the Amontillado, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Raven, and The Tell-Tale Heart. There are a couple humorously dark commercials too. All stories could be performed with different actors or the same group.
This will be performed as an old-time radio show with sound effects created on stage. Interested sound technicians (both construction and operation during performances) please contact the Playhouse.
If you are interested in auditioning for a role. Please sign up for a time slot through the link below. Please come 5 minutes prior. Please be prepared to read a one-minute poem or short story that demonstrates your expressive ability.
There is a $100 participation fee that helps cover the costs of production. Please, do not let the fee prohibit your audition! The Playhouse strives to have no barriers to participation. Auditions are open to anyone high school age or older.
