We hosted our 6th Ruby’s Pantry at Birch Grove on Thursday, October 6th. We served 101 people. Thank you to all who have been purchasing a share and those who volunteer! We put together a list of people that have attended and it totaled 196. There is clearly a need.
We received a letter from Ruby’s that October would be the last distribution this year. We can re-visit this needed service in the spring if we have committed purchased shares each month.
Please consider a monthly commitment to purchase a share each month at $25 (whether you pick one up one or not) this will help to keep the program going for those who really do need it (We usually give anywhere from 4 to 10 free each month).

If you choose to donate without picking up a share, please contact me about the options of a monthly donation autopay to the WE Feed account or other donation option that works best for you. Any extra shares will be made available for Birch Grove staff and students, the food shelf, our local churches, fire departments, etc. or upon request. Depending on your location we may deliver a share as needed.
Please help us continue to provide this valuable service to the West End of Cook County.

PS: Anyone of you that will really miss the West End share, please call me and I’ll put you on my list to bring back shares from the Grand Marais distribution on the second Tuesday of the month.
