Cook County News Herald

Attention Cook County youth ages 11-14

Would you like to make a difference in your community this summer? Join us for the 2023 Cook County Youth Volunteer Program.

During the summer you can volunteer 25 – 50 hours at one of this year’s fantastic community sites where you could do a variety of tasks such as helping with children, cataloging historic artifacts, taking soil samples, or helping with journalism tasks. At the end of the summer, you will receive a certificate that you can redeem for a recreation or cultural activity of your choice such as music lessons, discounted ski pass, art class, golf pass or a variety of other options.

2023 Volunteer Sites include:

• WTIP
• Cook County
Historical Society
• YMCA
• Cooperation Station
• Explorers Club
• Cook County Soil and
Water

• SHIP (Statewide
Health Improvement
Partnership)
• Grand Marais
Playhouse
• Cook County Senior
Center (the HUB)

To participate, families need to fill out an online application. The application deadline is Tuesday April 25. There will be an orientation session on Wednesday, April 26 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. for all youth/families to learn about the program, meet the volunteer site mentors, and indicate their preferences for a site.
