Adam Kates finished first in the 10K Classic and second in the 20K Freestyle to claim first in the combined results with an overall time of 1:15:54.3. Kates was part of a Thunder Bay contingent that donned interesting accessories for the race. Middle:

Local racers Denny Fitzpatrick and Ann Redshaw looked strong on the first lap. When Fitzpatrick finished, he stopped and skied backwards across the finish line.
