Arrowhead Electric begins new meter installation project

Arrowhead Cooperative will be installing new automated meters over the next three to four months to increase the efficiency and reliability of its electric system.

Improving the efficiency of both operations and electricity delivery can helps keep down costs for members.

Crews began the project on Sept. 14 and will be working in the area around the Arrowhead office in Lutsen, then heading south, down the shore.

Customers can expect meter installations to take place Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Customers do not need to be present for the work to be performed, but access to the meter must be available. Electric service will be briefly (less than a minute) interrupted as the old meter is removed and the new one installed.

Customers can find a schedule of areas where the cooperative will be exchanging meters at Arrowhead’s website or Facebook page, or by calling (218) 663-7239.
