Arrowhead Cooperative names new general manager/CEO

The Arrowhead Cooperative board of directors recently appointed Joe Pandy Jr. general manager/ CEO. He started September 11 but is working a couple of days per week while he makes a move from Peru, Indiana, where he served as general manager for Peru Utilities.

Joe has spent his entire career serving as a public power system manager. He began in 1971 as the electric power superintendent for the city of Painesville, then worked as the general manager for San Patricio Electric Co-op, Texas. He followed that up by becoming commissioner for the Cleveland Public Power (city of Cleveland, Ohio), and director and general manager of the Lansing Board of Water & Light, Michigan. He moved to become general manager for Mountain Parks Electric, Inc., Granby, Colorado and then as general manager for Peru Utilities, Peru, Indiana (2016-2017).

Joe is married to Elizabeth for the past 22 years. They have two sons, one in college, and one finishing high school in Michigan.

He grew up in a small town on Lake Erie in Ohio and is happy to be back in a small village on a Great Lake. Joe said he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and skiing.

Arrowhead Cooperative serves more than 4,000 members in Cook County and part of Lake County. The cooperative operates and maintains over 300 miles of overhead distribution lines and 224 miles of underground distribution lines. Arrowhead also provides broadband service to the county.

With a master’s degree in business administration from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, plus his years of experience, Pandy is well suited to lead Arrowhead Cooperative.
